Manpower is an important asset of economy . 17 students, including four graduates of the City Government-owned Technical Institute of Iloilo City (TIIC) Molo campus, will be going to work in Doha, Qatar and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) soon( October 12 , 2012). Department of Labor and Employment recognized the Iloilo Province's Public Employment Services Office (Peso) as Best Peso in Western Visayas for the years 2010 and 2011 for creation of more jobs.

Defensor also facilitated the establishment of 58 new classrooms in selected schools in the province through the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor). checks totaling P12,119,101.50 to the representatives of 86 recipient schools. the amount consists of repair/rehabilitation of school building – P3,650,000; construction of school facilities such as stage, comfort room, canopy, drainage system, etc. – P4,889,000; construction/completion of school building – P2,814,995.50; and procurement of books, instructional materials, equipment and IT resources – P615,000.

B. 1000 Homes in San Isidro , Jaro
Uswag San Isidro Subdivision in San isidro , Jaro has more than 1,000 houses constructed families displaced from 23 barangays. The subdivision, formerly known as the San Isidro relocation site, is more than 17 hectares and composed of several villages funded by the Gawad Kalinga Village, Habitat for Humanity, CLIFF, Cacho Village by Cacho Family , Panay Electric Company (PECO) , GK Village of former congressman Raul Gonzalez Jr , the Religious of the Assumption and the Italian village funded by the Italian governmen the Lopez Foundation is looking into a water system donation for the relocatees as part of its social responsibility.
PECO will initiate projects that follow the GK template - livelihood, education, health, Bayanihan and the environment. Caretakers will empower the home owners and they will elect their own Kapitbahayan officers. More over , these houses benfitted the low power program in their electricity utility bills.

Drilon said that of the total amount, P144 million was assured by the NHA, another P100 million from the Office of the President and another P100 million from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
As soon as the first batch of informal settlers at the Iloilo River relocate at Iloilo Rivers Plains Subdivision Phase I by late this year, the vacated Iloilo River portion will be dredged by Water Master dredging machine bought by DPWH for P32 million. Another 1000 household is deducted from 13 , 000 household in Iloilo living in poverty .

More than 200 families living along the riverbanks at Barangay South and 75 Families from North San Jose , Molo will be relocated as soon as development projects at the Iloilo River five hectares of the 5.6-hectare lot bought two years ago from businessman Rudy Golez. Senator Franklin Drilon asked the Office of the President of more than 300 Million grant. It was chanelled through The National Housing
Authority (NHA) to finance the site with P100 million with a
counterpart of P45 million from the City Government, pending housing projects of Gawad Kalinga and Habitat for Humanity , P100 million from the DSWD.
The city government is planning another lot in Tacas, Jaro for the additional 4,000 informal settlers and will complete its target of providing decent house and lot for the marginal families before 2016.

To underscore enhancing education and health , 65,000 household are identified by DSWD and expanded to municipalities of Badiangan, Barotac Nuevo, Cabatuan, Concepcion, Dingle, Dumangas, Estancia, Mina, New Lucena, Pototan, Tigbauan, and Zarraga., a household could avail of a maximum of P1,400 each month if the household has three school age children regularly going to school who will get P300 each for their educational expenses. The mother, on the other hand, gets P500 monthly to spend for household and other needs of the family.

It was founded in 1998 by Salesians Missionaries through Catholic Archdiocese of Jaro, by equest of late Archbishop Alberto Piamonte who donated the 7 hectare land . It is to help solve the social and economic problems of the province.
